Sometimes people procrastinate. They put off work or school and go do something that seems more fun and worthwhile. Gamers take the joys of procrastination and move it to a whole new level. They often will sit for hours playing a video game and delay the important things in life like a job, school and chores. Earlier today my roommate did not go to his Biology Study and Observation class and played
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2009 instead. Yes, video games are fun but, there are priorities in life you should set straight. Playing video games is not at the top of that list. School and work are miles ahead of playing a game by yourself in a dark room. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Many gamers often put off homework until the last minute or even never do it all to satisfy their addiction to the glow of the television and the click of the controls. All they can do is drool as their retinas are burnt out because they are two feet from a sixty inch plasma television and the 5.1 surround sound system slowly deafens them. (I wish I had that, it would be so cool)
Don’t get me wrong. I am a master of procrastination myself but, I have witnessed people skip classes, blow off homework, even call off sick from work just to play for a couple more hours straight. I would never do anything on that level and neither would most people. Calling off work to sit alone in your basement, wow! I guess it is normal to want to call off to go to the beach or a football game. But jeez! How can you do that! There will always be those people in the world I guess. The ones who somehow get by through zero work and all play.
