Getting "owned" is one thing that video gamers like to say when they have just killed someone! The term is often used in video games that involves guns or hand-to-hand combat! Now, you can't use the term "owned" just whenever you kill someone! That's not exactly how it works. The best way to "own" someone is to beat them in a game extremely badly. For instance, in a video game like Halo, you fight against other people until you have a certain amount of kills! Therefor, if you end up winning the game by a lot then you get to yell "OWNED" in someone's face! This is one of my personal favorites! Some gamers use other trash talk during a game and this may pay off for them, but my favorite is when someone has been talking trash to you all game and then you end up killing them badly! All you have to say then is, "OWNED!" Lots of video games end in a blow out thus someone is getting owned! All over the place people are getting owned in video games! Although, you are not the physical owner of some other gamer when this happens, it is more of a pride thing. With all of this said, I'd like to leave you with a little something.....
OWNED!!!!

Congratulations for being the first to post! I think you did a great job choosing the image for this post; it's specific to the topic and not just some generic video game-related picture.
I absolutely love this post. It was not boring, and very humorous. Although I am not personally a gamer, I have a lot of friends who are, so I am very familiar with "owning". Don't get me wrong, it's not that video games aren't great, they are just not for me (well not beyond frogger and crash bandicoot, from the seventh grade, that is). Even though I don't like to play them, I often enjoy watching others do so. I am thuroughly entertained at how much people get into the games, and how often "OWNED" is actually used. I also love how the "ownage" can depend on the gaming situation. If you are playing halo, then yes, you can "own" your human opponent . But I also find it funny that when people are playing games that don't require more than one person (i.e. guitar hero), the gamer likes to believe that he has "owned" the game itself. The gamer then usually does a victory walk (usually with arms raised, controling device still in hand) in a circle around the room, as if his/her entire body totally "owned" that game. This post reminded me of all these things, which may have been why I stayed so interested. You have done a really good job of choosing a photo, and it was actually informative on what "OWNED" is if someone had never heard it before.
Overall, I would say this is a really good post. It kept my attention, and stayed relevant to the theme of your blog. Good job!
