Everyone has a language right? We all have a way to communicate to each other, and have some form of slang that only we can understand. Well, in the gamer world, we also have a slang of our own. Most of them originated from typos and cell phone texting language. Then there are some that we don't know where they originated from. For example, the words pwn, pwn'd, pwnage, and other similar words, supposedly originated from a typo. It was apparently created when someone typed owned when they defeated someone in a game, and accidently type a p instead of o (since p and o are next to each other on thee keyboard). Then there are words that are text words, usually acronyms for common phrases, like lol, omg, omfg, wtf, wth, stfu, and roflmao. Gamers refer to lesser gamers as n00bs (newbies). Finally, when a gamer is totally and utterly defeated by another gamer, they refer to it as being "raped", which I don't personally get, since I rarely use this slang myself.
