The Trilogy....
As some of you may have read, Halo has been mentioned before in not only my blogs but also by my fellow Gamerstation bloggers. Halo is one of the most popular video games around the entire world. The original Halo came out on November 15, 2001 and it started to sweep the nation with its story line and fierce combat situations. The concept of only being allowed to carry 2 weapons at a time and a limited number of grenades was introduced in this original version of Halo. Since, the same concept is in Halo 2 and Halo 3.
On November 9, 2004, after almost three years with the original Halo, Halo 2 was released. After the original Halo's success, the demand for Halo was unbelievable! I think this is when people started camping outside of stores days in advance in order to get in line to purchase the new game! Halo 2 came out with 2 different editions. The tradition edition and the collector's edition. The traditional edition came with the complete game on one disc. The collector's edition came with the complete game, a fancy aluminum case, a bonus DVD, an extra booklet, and a special manual. Halo 2 also came with a few new features. One the best best features that most gamers tended to enjoy was the ability to not only carry 2 weapons at the same time but to shoot to weapons at the same time, this is called "dual - wielding". Halo also supported playing on XBox Live. Which was a new craze that many, if not all of the Halo gamers enjoyed and participated in. At this point the Halo series was doing extremely well, but with such great demand and so many supporters, Halo 3 was being begged for before it was even thought up to create.
Halo 3 was released on September 25, 2007. Almost another 3 years after Halo 2 was released. Unlike Halo 1 or Halo 2, Halo 3 was released to play on the new XBox 360. Just like Halo 2, the demand for the new Halo 3 was insane! And you can even read about how people got arrested for various incidents that involved trying to buy the game. Needless to say, this game included new vehicles and new weapons that were never seen before on the previous two Halos. Halo 3 on XBox Live was the most frequently game played on 2007, in its short time of being on the market. And I'm pretty sure that it is the most played game in 2008 as well.
With all the success of the trilogy of these three games, you have to wonder how many more Halo's they are gonna come out with! Halo 4 is starting to become the new talk. Now if you have played the other three Halo's, then you know that the game ends and the "fight" is over. The new Halo 4's title is "Start of a New Fight". I don't know for sure but based on the release dates of the previous Halo's, I would expect Halo 4 to come out in the Fall of 2008.
