DOOM... many of us gamers have played it. It’s one of the classics from the start of the new age of gaming. Way back when, I played DOOM all the time. I had tons of fun kicking some demon butt. Then, last week one of the guys on my floor recently invited people to play again. At first I was reluctant... with all of today's new technology and 'super games' on next-gen consoles how would I have fun playing a game over ten years old? We started and immediately I remembered why DOOM was so great. The game was kept so incredibly simple that anyone could play after a few minutes of playing with the controls. I also loved how I never had to wait for a level to load (which is frustrating in new games). We had close to thirty guys playing at the same time (relatively difficult to do in new games) with no problems with lag. Yes, the graphics are terrible but who cares. That doesn’t stop me from blowing away a demon with my BFG. There are some games that just get old, DOOM is not one of them. So gamers get out there and play some old school shooters like DOOM. You won’t regret it.

I agree. Where did all the classic games go? I loved all the original games like classic mario or donkey kong. Now the characters are all complicated with new moves in every game. All the shooting games are now all based on strategy rather than the classical "never let go of the shooting trigger." They should re-create some of the classical games with better graphics but the same game play. I never have played doom but I know exactly what you mean about the old games and how they are still the best and should bring them back.
