Be A Rock God (At Least In Your Head)

Guitar Hero. It's a game for gamers who wish to act like a rock star. Rock stars that are cool, since gamers usually aren't cool by themselves, they pretend to be cool as rockers. Guitar Hero first debuted on the PS2. It created much hype and gained fans in a short amount of time. Then later they improved on the Guitar Hero formula and created Guitar Hero 2, whose mechanics were improved to make it easier for some players, but still had the GH challenge.

Finally came GH3, which made it even better by upping up the difficulty, but they did a better job of spreading it out throughout tall the songs. In other words, if you beat it on easy, you are pretty ready to take on the medium setting, which helps beat hard, and so on. There are people out there who are insane good on these songs, like one here.
For any of you who are like, "What is this 'Guitar Hero' that you speak of?" then here's an explanation. Guitar Hero, or GH for short, is a rhythm game, like DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), but for your fingers. Like on DDR, where the arrows climb to the top of the screen and you stomp on the corresponding arrow on the mat at the right time, this is similar to GH. But on GH, different colored "notes" of colors red, green, yellow, blue, and orange come down, you hold down the button, or "fret" on the guitar controllers neck and "strum" the little bar on the bottom as the notes line up. This goes towards chords where you strum two to three notes at the same time, and solos, where you have to strum at breakneck speed.

I personally love GH3. First because I played GH2 and loved it, and second because it plays old songs you've never heard and new olds too. Therefore you can here all your favorites, and acquire some new ones as well. The only thing that I don't like about the game is that they did up the difficulty. I mean, I can at least "pass" 20 songs on expert on GH2, but on GH3, I can't even beat 2 of the last song on hard. This gets really frustrating, but the game is still awesome. So if you like music and videogames, go ahead and try this one. ROCK ON!!!

Guitar hero is made for people with fast fingers and good rhythm. I personally have neither. It is amazing to sit and watch someone who has mastered the skill of guitar hero, and when dualing someone else it is even more exciting. While walking past some of the dorm rooms I find that many people are playing guitar hero and it seems to be a common theme of music blaring from the windows. This game is also good for any age and can use the easy settings for those who need some practice.

I completely agree with jeepman. I love to watch people play the insanely difficult songs on expert. The quickness of their fingers amazes me, and I sometimes wish I could do that. One thing I've noticed is, good guitar players (in real life) are usually pretty good at Guitar Hero, but those good at Guitar Hero, are not necessarily good at guitar. Take my little brother for example, he is pretty talented at Guitar Hero, and can play many of the songs on expert. I honestly believe if he tried to play a real guitar, he would hold it upside down. For some reason, pushing different colored buttons does not translate to the real guitar. Perhaps someday, a game that does help you become better at real guitar will be available to the general public
