As the Christmas shopping season approaches, game publishers rush to release their big name titles. This is a strategy to take advantage of big holiday spending. I have my eye on a few games that look like they will be extremely fun.
First on my list, Microsoft will be releasing its third-person shooter, Gears of War 2, developed by Epic Games. I am a huge Gears fan and plan on getting this game as soon as it is released. The original Gears of War was a huge success and was noted for its gruesome brutality and its enticing gameplay. Before the release of Halo 3 Gears of War was the most played game on xbox 360's Live. Gears of War 2 plans on blowing gamers out of the water again with enhanced graphics and a deeper storyline. This one will be big.
Second on my list is Fable 2. Fable 2 is a RPG developed by Lionhead studios and published by Microsoft. Fable 2 is an RPG based in a fantasy world that revolves around a 'Hero's Guild' and the Heroes(and villains though they are all called heroes) that are trained there. In Fable 1 Heros were worshiped and villains were feared. In Fable 2 however, the public has turned on Heroes and villains alike. The story revolves around redeeming the name of Heroes. Fable 2 will be a big name game for RPG fans.
Third, we have another RPG called Fallout 3. Fallout 3 is published and designed by Bethesda Games. Fallout 3 is another gruesome shooter. The Fallout series is based in a post nuclear war America. Your character emerges from a bomb shelter to find a world in chaos. Fallout 3 revolves around nearly limitless customization. This should be another fun game for fans of shooters and RPG titles.
The end of my list wraps up with Guitar Hero World Tour designed by Neversoft and published by Activision/Red Octane. Everyone loves music. So, why not try and act like the artists you love to listen to. Grab some friends and make a band. Go on tour and shock the world by playing songs from past and present artists. Guitar Hero now has a microphone, drumset and the usual two guitars available all for simultaneous play. Its fun to play alone but a lot more fun with your friends. Should be good for hours upon hours of play.
Of course there are many more titles to be released before the holiday season but these are the ones I'm watching. Hope all the gamers out there have some cash saved up and can go grab some of these releases when the come out.
